EOCA Conservation Funding Reaches €3 million Mountain clean up This March thousands of outdoor enthusiasts joined European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA), and its members, to participate in its annual spring public vote. As a result of the public vote and also the members private vote, six new conservation projects have been selected for EOCA to support. With almost €150,000 being pledged to these six projects, this also marks a new milestone in the history of EOCA – the funding of €3 million in vital conservation projects around the world!

26 Companies sign EOCA's Plastic Pledge for Tradeshows! Bring it. Use it. Repeat! In an exciting step forwards in the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA)’s new focus on tackling plastic pollution, the association has asked exhibitors at this summer’s OutDoor by ISPO trade show to sign up to a pledge to reduce the amount of single-use plastic on their stands at the show. New Public Fundraiser for EOCA Doing your bit!  Image Surfrider Foundation Europe As part of its newly-launched focus on plastic clean-up, the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) has launched a public fundraiser to raise money to help reduce single use plastic.  The project, part of Surfrider Foundation Europe’s ‘Ocean Initiatives’ programme will work to raise awareness and educate thousands of people through waste collection and clean-up events.

EOCA at ISPO 19 - Round Up A busy stand! Munich covered in 25cm of snow proved to be the perfect platform for EOCA as it launched its new 2 year focus and raised €19,000 for conservation during ISPO 19

Thanks to the generosity of EOCA’s members, the Conservation Fundraiser boasted its largest number of items yet - with offerings from hammocks to skiwear, mugs to climbing harnesses and everything in between. In addition, Bergans of Norway, Klean Kanteen and Ternua held fundraisers on their stand to benefit EOCA. With a generous top up from ISPO, EOCA was delighted to raise a total of €19,000 during the 4 days of the show! 100% of this will be spent on the conservation projects EOCA supports this coming year.

Public and Members Vote to Allocate EOCA Conservation Funding Salviamo l'Orso Image Francesco Culicelli For the third year in succession, the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) has held two annual funding rounds, this time allocating a total of €300,000 of funding to projects conserving threatened habitats and having a link to outdoor enthusiasts around the world.  During the latest autumn round, 131 conservation organisations applied for funding and five have now been selected through a public vote and a member’s vote to receive funding.

Breathing Space at OutDoor 2017 Klean Kanteen Tumblers - All we need now is ICE CREAM! The OutDoor Show at Friedrichshafen proved a successful one for the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) last month, raising funds of over €35,500 from various events run by members and the popular Conservation Fundraiser.  Not only this, but the topic of trees was very much the subject of talks and discussions held by the Association at the show, in particular the benefits they bring to the outdoor industry and enthusiasts, through oxygen production, protection and providing space and room to enjoy outdoor landscapes.

Conservation Worth Celebrating at OutDoor 2017 Conservation Fundraiser The OutDoor Show in Friedrichshafen this month will be a busy mix of fundraising, celebrating and business for the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) and its members. Raising funds to conserve the great outdoors, celebrating projects being supported by the Association, supporting initiatives of existing members and engaging new companies, will all be priorities during the show.

Members of EOCA have been hugely generous with their donations to the ever-popular Conservation Fundraiser, including one of the newest members to the Association, Bestway. Held on EOCA’s stand in the East Entrance, members generously donate items which are then sold to visitors to the show with 100% of the money raised being used to fund conservation projects around the world. In the past few years, enough has been raised at each show to fund an entire extra project. This year is expected to be no different, with exciting items including sleeping bags, jackets, T-shirts, climbing helmets and packs all on offer.  more detail

EOCA 2 Million Tree Campaign: The First Million Nurturing Saplings.  Photo WeForest To mark and celebrate the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) being 10 years old and having given €2 million to conservation, the Association launched the 2 Million Tree Project as part of ambitious plans to raise enough money to plant / regnerate 2 million trees over the next 2 years.  Following a ruthless selection process and 107 applications for funding last summer, the EOCA is delighted to be able to outline the first 5 projects it will be funding, as well as a project funded by one of EOCA’s members  - which together will plant just over 1,000,000 trees.   In addition, EOCA is launching a public fundraiser, to support an additional project based in Nepal, aiming to add a further 80,00 trees to the total!

EOCA at ISPO - Round Up EOCA proudly accept their ISPO Medal of Performance The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) began its tenth anniversary year in style at ISPO, by raising nearly €7000, hosting an After Work get together, and by being supported by members organising other fun and fundraising activities to mark the occasion.

Since EOCA was founded, €1.8 million has been raised and spent on conservation by the Association. This money, raised from and by member companies all operating in the European outdoor industry, has funded conservation projects in 36 different countries around the world, and made a real difference to many landscapes, habitats and local communities.

Sustaining Members step up to multiply Industry's impact on Conservation All our Sustaining Members A select number of members of the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) have underlined their increasing commitment to the growth of the Association by becoming its first ‘Sustaining Members’. Seven member companies have signed a declaration at the OutDoor international press conference pledging to support the Association from January 2015 to the tune of an extra €10,000 per year for the next three years, over and above their annual membership fee. This money will be used to finance the running of the Association and support its sustainable growth.

Photo credit:Thea Powell, OuTrop During the first day of the OutDoor trade fair in Friedrichshafen, the European OutDoor Conservation Association (EOCA) will be unveiling the 8 conservation projects it will be funding this year. In total, €181,000 is being committed to conservation by the association this year, ensuring that vital conservation work can take place around the world.

EOCA, which will also be celebrating signing up its 100th member at the fair, puts 100% of all the membership fees it receives from its members into conservation work, together with 100% of all monies it raises at OutDoor and other shows. Each project that EOCA funds can apply for up to €30,000 for their work.

EOG Association for Conservation off to a Fantastic Start News Image Holder As an industry directly linked to the environment, the outdoor sector is only too aware of the pressure that the environment is under. The launch of the new EOG Association for Conservation during the OutDoor Show in Friedrichshafen, Germany was a firm indication from the outdoor industry of its commitment to ensuring that we preserve and protect the outdoor environment for future generations. New President of the EOG Association for Conservation, Hervé Chabert commented after the launch “I felt the launch of the EOG Association for Conservation went extremely well and was clearly well attended. The true success now lies in the number of companies becoming members. We have had a lot of companies saying they will join. This industry seems to be ready for such an initiative, so I’m very optimistic.”
