EOCA Online Conservation Fundraiser

THE MOST RECENT ONLINE FUNDRAISER was held for  GREEN FRIDAY  (24 November) and GIVING TUESDAY (28 November) and is now finished.  Almost €77,000 was raised and below you can see what EOCA’s member did to help raise this incredible amount. Thanks to the generosity of EOCA members, the association is delighted to bring you online fundraiser events during the year. A chance to buy the gear you need for your next adventure AND make a difference!

EOCA Online fundraisers will run each year in the days leading up to and around the specific events of Green (Black) Friday / Giving Tuesday (late November) and Earth Day (April 22) each year. Please keep an eye on this page and on our social media pages for updates!

EOCA’s work ensures that the projects it funds address climate change and the loss of biodiversity in landscapes around the world.

The companies involved will be raising funds in a number of ways. Please scroll down to read all the details as we receive them!  Some are hosting events on their own websites or at their headquarters, some are offering discounted goods or services, but all are raising money to support EOCA and its work to protect and restore our wonderful wild places!

Cumulus

Our friends at Cumulus® are very generously donating 20% of their online sales over the whole weekend of 24-26 November to EOCA. Plus they are offering free shipping! Find out more HERE. All money raised for EOCA through this event will go into the project Clean Up Action for Vulnerable Natural Habitats, Ukraine.

In addition to this, have you ever thought about making your own gear by upcycling items that have come to the end of their lives?  Cumulus is keeping this Green Friday interesting by offering UPCYCLE YOUR EXPERIENCE online tutorials so you can kickstart your DIY outdoor journey and reduce the amount of stuff heading to landfill at the same time!!  What’s not to like?!

Fabulous German brand deuter is donating 10% of its online sales from the whole Green Friday week of 20-26 November to conservation! 10% of all purchases made between these dates will be donated to Patron, a charity working to raise awareness of and remove single use plastic pollution from nature.  Find out more about the Plasticfree Peaks project HERE.

icebreaker

To celebrate the planet via Green Friday, the lovely people at icebreaker have committed to making a €10,000 donation towards Patron’s Plasticfree Peaks programme, raising awareness of the issue of single use plastic and litter in the mountains, as well as running a programme of clean up events throughout each summer across the Alps.

Born in New Zealand in 1995, icebreaker leads a movement towards a more natural way of living by removing unnecessary plastic from performance apparel. The company strongly believes that by partnering with nature, we can create a better, more sustainable future for people and the planet.

La Sportiva

La Sportiva was the first member of EOCA to raise money for the association through an online event over the Green Friday weekend in 2017. It has continued to support EOCA in this way ever since, and this year is no exception: running from 24-26 November, La Sportiva will donate a massive 40% of its online sales over the weekend to EOCA for its work supporting conservation!  Head over to La Sportiva’s website HERE to find out more!

Lowe Alpine/ Rab
