With trade show season well underway, the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is gearing up to present its work and successes at OutDoor by ISPO next week in Munich.  The association is looking to raise further money for its vital conservation work through a fundraiser on its stand, alongside its involvement in a number of meetings and presentations to highlight the importance of considering biodiversity in every aspect of business operation.

As in previous years, EOCA will be running its conservation fundraiser throughout the show, on its stand A3.219, which has kindly been donated by Messe Munich.  Thanks to the incredible generosity of many of its members in providing items for sale, there are a large number of new items available to help raise money for EOCA and its work. At the same time, the team at Klean Kanteen is offering free coffee to anyone buying a mug from them, whilst stocks last, on stand A1.414, with all proceeds going to the association as well.

EOCA will be represented at several events at the show, including on a panel on the topic ‘How to make a positive impact on Biodiversity’ hosted by Greenroom Voice on Monday 3rd June at 10.00 on the Green Stage.  The Industry Breakfast runs from 07.30 on Tuesday 4th June in the same place and there will be a talk on ‘The Changing Landscape of Nature and Biodiversity’ given by Hanna Dennes from Textile Exchange and hosted by Julian Lings of The North Face, and EOCA President.

Celebrating the funding of its 200th project, the association has now funded €5.6m of nature conservation since it started in 2006.  With nearly 150 members, EOCA is looking to highlight the responsibility companies need to take to ensure conservation and biodiversity are embedded in ESG strategies, to meet the enormity of the challenge that our natural world is currently facing.  Tanya Bascombe, Joint General Manager of EOCA said, “Biodiversity loss is already costing the global economy 10% of its output each year.  Working to go above and beyond legal requirements, to proactively give back to our natural world is not only the right thing to do, it is the most responsible thing we, as humans can do”.
