A largely intact environment is the basic prerequisite for this and for the future of mankind on earth. Everyone can contribute something, that applies naturally also for Unterwegs as an enterprise. Ecological and social aspects play an important role in our operational planning and decisions.
When did we join EOCA?
Unterwegs joined in August 2019.
Why we are involved with EOCA?
Nature is a valuable asset, which is not only the basis for the existence of our company, but also the basis for human existence. We therefore have a great interest in protecting nature and making a lasting contribution to its preservation. The EOCA bundles many forces and the contributions of the members flow to 100 % into the environmental protection projects, thus we think that great things can be achieved.
What else do we do to support conservation?
Examples of our commitment are green electricity in all our branches, climate-neutral shipping with DHL GoGreen, ADFC sponsoring membership at all our locations, consideration of ecological aspects when compiling our range of products, reuse of shipping cartons, planting a fruit tree meadow, CO2 compensation for unavoidable business trips. Further information on our environmental efforts will soon be published online.
Our best green product and why?
One of the many sustainable products in our range are the Ocean Upcycling tubular neck gaiters from P.A.C. These consist of polyester fibres which are 100% recycled from marine plastic and PET. In addition, P.A.C. produces the scarfs in Germany.
Also the Earthrise series of the manufacturer Mountain Equipment belongs to our green products, here 100% recycled down is processed. In the long run it is Mountain Equipment's goal to establish a closed recycling system for down clothing and equipment.
