The bluesign® standard creates transparency along the entire textile manufacturing chain providing tangible solutions and practical tools, without compromising functionality, quality or design. With a sophisticated input stream management all input streams are assessed based on their ecotoxicological impact and risks. The bluesign® standard is based on five principles of sustainability. These are namelyresource productivity, consumer safety, air emission, water emission and occupational health and safety. Potentially harmful substances are eliminated before production even begins yielding products that contain only components and pass through processes that are safe for humans and the environment according to “Best Available Technology”. The strength in this approach is that it links together suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and brands to jointly reduce the environmental footprint and to foster a healthy, responsible textile industry.
When did we join EOCA?
bluesign technologies joined EOCA in April 2008.
Why we are involved with EOCA?
The bluesign® standard stands for the philosophy and daily practice of sustainability, which is an advantage for all of us. For us personally, for the others, but also for those who will follow – our children.
Our vision and the vision of EOCA are in line with each other. This is why bluesign technologies is actively involved with EOCA.
What else do we do to support conservation?
Conservation, orproducing sustainably is bluesign technologies' daily quest. The path to a healthy textile future leads across safe technologies, sustainable use of the resources and active consumer safety. Implementing the bluesign® standard is a strong signal and a step in the right direction.

Our best green product and why?
bluesign technologies is not a producing company and hence does not have its own green products. However, the sophisticated approach of the bluesign® standard enables bluesign® system partners to develop sustainable products. As a consequence, many great green products have been manufactured by our members.
