Sunday Afternoons Officially Climate Neutral Certified

Long-standing EOCA member, Sunday Afternoons, recently announced it has been awarded certification from Climate Neutral, a non-profit organisation that works to eliminate carbon emissions and enable climate neutrality.

An industry leader in technical headwear, Sunday Afternoons has spent the last year measuring its carbon footprint by calculating the greenhouse gas emissions it takes to manufacture, warehouse and ship products worldwide, as well as the overall impact of its operations.

The company is rightly very proud to be officially Climate Neutral Certified, an achievement that supports many other initiatives and actions that have been taken to become a more sustainable business. As of 2021, 54% of its products were created with certified sustainable fabric, 52% are bluesign®certified (using socially and environmentally responsible fabric), and 8.5% are made with global recycled standard certified materials. Additionally, the use of polyurethane bags has been removed which has saved 5.5million plastic bags ending up in landfill.

At the very heart of Sunday Afternoons is its love of nature, wild places and spending time outdoors, values that have inspired the company to tackle climate change head on. It is committed to minimising its impact on the planet and is working towards a goal of reducing its entire carbon footprint by 30% by 2030.

Climate change requires immediate action and EOCA is extremely grateful for its members, such as Sunday Afternoons, that are working to be more sustainable and ensuring that protecting the places we all love becomes a top priority.
