Going Green: Building Resilient Ecosystems and Livelihoods, Nepal TMI Project Area
TMI The Mountain Institute is committed to protecting mountain environments and  improving the livelihoods of impoverished mountain people.  By conserving ecosystems and empowering the people in mountain communities, TMI ensures the preservation of resources – natural, cultural and spiritual – that are crucial to maintaining a healthy planet.

Turning Tree Seedlings into Medicine, Borneo School children planting trees
Yayasan Alam Sehat Lestari (ASRI)’s mission is to improve both environmental and human health around Gunung Palung National Park, a 100,000 + hectare protected area of Borneo’s forests,  home to 5-10% of the world’s orangutans. Tying together healthcare and conservation initiatives to break the dangerous cycle of poverty, poor health and environmental destruction, ASRI engages with local communities to provide high quality, low-cost healthcare in exchange for a commitment to protect natural resources.

Restoring Indigenous Forest on Mount Kenya’s slopes Mount Kenya
Mount Kenya Trust (MKT) works to protect and conserve the forest, water and wildlife around Africa’s second highest mountain – Mount Kenya.  It strives to drive collaborative action for the sustainable management of Mt Kenya’s biodiversity and natural resources through partnership with government, communities and civil society.

RIPPLE Africa is a small UK registered charity running grassroots projects in northern Malawi. These projects empower communities to achieve a sustainable future by providing a 'hand up' and not a 'hand out' RIPPLE Africa's strength is in working in partnership with local communities on a long-term basis to help them find simple, community-led solutions to environmental problems threatening their future. more detail

WeForest, Making Earth Cooler, develops and implements large-scale landscape reforestation projects as a scalable solution for mitigating climate change, preserving biodiversity and alleviating poverty. more detail

Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organisation that aims to rebuild tropical fisheries with the poorest coastal communities.  Founded in 2003, their work has evolved to incorporate a holistic, integrated approach to marine conservation, encompassing marine and fisheries management, sustainable coastal livelihoods, education and community health.

The World Land Trust (WLT) mission is to protect and sustainably manage natural ecosystems of the world to conserve their biodiversity. Focussing on threatened habitats and endangered species, WLT works with local conservation partners who protect the land that is saved and engage support and commitment from the people who live there.

The Finnish Association for Nature Conservation (FANC) is the largest non-governmental organization for environmental protection and nature conservation in Finland.  Its purpose is to protect the environment, promote nature conservation, preserve cultural heritage, and promote active citizenship and environmental awareness.

Te mana o te moana's objective is to preserve the marine environment for future generations.  It does this through research, conservation and educational programmes, particularly on the flagship themes of sea turtles, marine mammals, coral reefs and eco-citizenship. more detail
Rewilding the Highlands, Scotland Lone winter pine.
Trees for Life has the goal of restoring the Caledonian Forest, and all its constituent species of flora and fauna to the Scottish highlands. It enlists volunteers of all ages in the practical work to achieve this, and promotes the work of restoration and increased support for the return of the forest.

Fix the Fells is a many organisation partnership encouraging greater understanding and support for upland access, as well as repairing seriously eroded landscapes in the Lake District National Park. Fix the Fells has delivered over 200 major footpath repair projects over the past fifteen year, at the same time inspiring people to care for and contribute to the natural environment of the Lake District and Cumbria. Following the unprecedented floods of December 2015, there is urgent work now ongoing to assess the extent of the damage and prioritise repair work.

The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International (Fossey Fund) is dedicated to the conservation and protection of gorillas and their habitats in Africa. Committed to promoting continued research on gorillas’ threatened ecosystems and education about their relevance to the world, it assists local communities through education, health, training and economic development initiatives. This work also includes nearly 50 years of daily monitoring and protection of mountain gorilla groups in Rwanda, and more recently also in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Whale and Dolphin Conservation is dedicated to the conservation and protection of whales and dolphins,  defending these remarkable creatures against the many threats they face through campaigns, lobbying, advising governments, conservation projects, field research and rescue.  WDC aims to inspire global action to protect these animals, envisioning a world where every whale and dolphin is safe and free.
