Conservation Celebrations at OutDoor
There were celebrations aplenty at the recent OutDoor show. The European OutDoor Conservation Association (EOCA) announced the reaching of its first €1 million for conservation, with funds being raised towards its next €million, new members joining up and a dedication at the Saturday night party from Germany’s top coverband.

EOCA Names its 2012 Conservation Champions
During the infamous OutDoor Party at the OutDoor Show, Friedrichshafen this weekend, the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) took to the main stage to announce that they were naming Original Buff, S.A., Wild Roses (International) AG, and Nikwax Ltd as their three 2012 Conservation Champions.

2012 Conservation Projects from EOCA
Following 74 project applications for funding this year, National Geographic Germany, Alpin (Germany), TGO (UK), Lift (Netherlands), Bike & Trekking (Netherlands) and Wider (France) all published details in their magazines and online to encourage their readers to vote for their favourite project in three separate project categories: nature, outdoor and alpine.

Newly Appointed Scientific Panel for EOCA

A staggering 55,263 votes were cast to select these three projects from the shortlisted projects which appeared online and in magazines across Europe.

New Leaders for Conservation
Following the untimely death of Holger Bismann, Managing Director of Patagonia Europe and President of the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) last autumn, the association is pleased to announce two new leaders who have agreed to steer the association until the Annual Assembly in July. At the Annual Assembly, there will be a formal discussion followed by a vote to approve the changes.

EOCA on Top of the World as it Announces Rune Gjeldnes as its Newest Ambassador!
The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is delighted to announce that Rune Gjeldnes has agreed to become its newest Ambassador, promoting the work of the association. Rune was approached about the role by Bergans of Norway, one of his sponsors and an active and supportive member of EOCA. In his new role, Rune will be a passionate advocate for the work that EOCA and its members achieve in supporting the conservation of threatened wild spaces worldwide.
