EOCA Ambassador Rune Gjeldnes awarded The Mungo Park Medal from the Royal Scottish Geographical Society Rune is awarded the Mungo Park Medal EOCA Ambassador Polar explorer Rune Gjeldnes was awarded The Mungo Park Medal from the Royal Scottish Geographical Society, on 14 June, at Perth Concert Hall. This is the first time since Thor Heyerdal received the medal in 1950 that a Norwegian has been so honored. In addition Rune was granted Honorary Membership of the Society.

New Leaders for Conservation John Jansen Following the untimely death of Holger Bismann, Managing Director of Patagonia Europe and President of the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) last autumn, the association is pleased to announce two new leaders who have agreed to steer the association until the Annual Assembly in July.  At the Annual Assembly, there will be a formal discussion followed by a vote to approve the changes. more detail
