Release date: 03 July 2012

This July is going to be a game of two halves for EOCA: celebrating reaching the first €1 million for conservation and fundraising for the second!
OutDoor, Messe Friedrichshafen
OutDoor, Messe Friedrichshafen

The incredible news that EOCA has reached the €1 Million milestone - 100% of which has gone directly into nature conservation projects - will be the main focus for the four days. Celebrations taking place at OutDoor will include an announcement on stage at the official OutDoor party, followed by the sharing of the First €1 million celebration cakes. Partygoers will also receive their unique Polartec tshirts with the million message

The official unveiling of the 2012 funded projects will take place on the Thursday morning at 11.30 with a free commemorative glass and drinks given to journalists and the first 50 attendees, sponsored by Ortlieb. Other EOCA members will be adding to the celebrations holding happy hours or get-togethers on their stands, using the commemorative glasses including Keen Footwear, EOG, Ortlieb, Polartec, Nikwax, Bergens, Patagonia, Mammut and Grangers.

But it is not all celebrations. There is the serious business of looking towards the second million, and with that in mind, members are again stepping up to the mark with fundraising events to get the ball rolling. On Friday 13th July from 15.30hrs, Keen is holding a HybridCare event on its stand like no other! A feast for the senses in the form of beer, icecream and a sandals fundraiser with all proceeds going to EOCA. Pedal power is the name of the game each lunch time as visitors to the EOCA stand can power their way to a healthy and refreshing smoothie, sponsored by Nikwax, to get you through the rest of the day. Afternoon drinks are laid on by Bergans - come and get your commemorative glass and a free beer at the same time, happy in the knowledge you are making a difference for conservation!

Finally the annual conservation fundraiser will take place each day on the EOCA stand with a huge range of exciting product donated by members - from brand new products including Snugpak’s Chrysalis range of sleeping bags complete with integral led light, soft shell jackets, t shirts, climbing gear and magazine subscriptions - there is something for everyone and every last cent raised throughout the show will be put directly into conservation projects. Guaranteed. Now surely that is also something to celebrate!
