AKU is an Italian premium quality mountain boots manufacturer, specialized in trekking and hiking. The company was born about 30 years ago in Montebelluna, historical Italian sporting shoes district, by its founder Galliano Bordin, a typical italian self made man. Today the company ownes three industrial facilities: one in Italy, Montebelluna, dedicated to the best in class trekking and mountaineering models, one in Romenia, Cluj Napoca, where the company established a subsidiary plant since 2000 and one in Serbia. AKU distributes its products wordwide on more than 30 markets, mainly in Europe. Since ever, the focus of the company is the comfort, lightweight and fitting.

AKU considers part of its corporate social responsability to support EOCA.
What else do we do to support conservation?
In Aku we have three groups working on what we call the 'Act Responsible Project': Product, Community, Operations.
Each group is focused to find lower impact initiave within product development and production, internal or external communities and logistics or product handling.
What else do we do to support conservation?
Bellamont Plus. This shoe is featuring a responsible selection of raw materials. Upper leathers are chrome free, while lining is made of 'ZeroImpact Leather', a leather tanned with an innovative process that don't use metals, reduces the use of chemicals and energy required for production and CO2 emissions are compensated with tree planting. Footbed is made with recycled coconut fibers, bamboo fiber and latex. Midsole is partially recycled.
