Outdoor brand Marmot has signed up to get involved as a member of the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA).
“This is very exciting news,” said Holger Bismann, President of EOCA and General Manager of Patagonia Europe, “This brings to 8 the number of new members that have signed up as a result of the show. Marmot is a great brand and we look forward to working with them more closely”.
Sarah Seeger, PR & Communications Manager at Marmot Europe said, “We are thrilled to announce that Marmot is working with EOCA. Taking responsibility for our planet through conservation and acting responsibly in the outdoors is an incredibly important part of our ethos. Being part of an organisation within the industry that takes this responsibility seriously and can directly fund specific conservation projects is very exciting.”
Brought into being just 4½ years ago, the European Outdoor Conservation Association has raised €640,000, all of which has been put into 26 projects worldwide. Voting is currently underway online, in partnership with a number of magazines across Europe, to choose the projects the association will support for 2011/12. To date, this has attracted nearly 25,000 public votes for conservation.
