The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is delighted to welcome its first UK retailer into membership. George Fisher Ltd, based in Keswick, has led the way in becoming the first retailer in the UK to contribute to conservation work around the world via EOCA. In addition, new members have been welcomed into all of EOCA’s membership categories over the summer.
Based in the heart of the English Lake District, George Fisher Ltd is one of the UK’s leading retailers of outdoor equipment and clothing. “We have constantly looked to protect and preserve the outdoor environment we enjoy, by supporting local environmental organisations” said Andy Airey, Director of George Fisher Ltd. “Joining EOCA is a natural progression for us, enabling us to support conservation in areas our customers visit around the world.”
Spring PR, a UK PR agency; TEKO, the UK eco-performance sock company; and Holmenkol GmbH, a manufacturer of sport surface coatings, all also joined EOCA as members during the summer. By joining, these companies all agreed to pay an annual membership, 100% of which will be put into vital conservation projects. The Russian Outdoor Group (ROG) has become EOCA’s 5th trade partner, keen to promote EOCA and conservation amongst its members in Russia. Active&Eco Portal signed up as a media partner and is already spreading the EOCA message via its media channels within Eastern Europe, particularly in Poland.
