Long-standing EOCA member, Sunday Afternoons, recently announced it has been awarded certification from Climate Neutral, a non-profit organisation that works to eliminate carbon emissions and enable climate neutrality.
For outdoor enthusiasts, whatever their chosen activity, spending time outside on the trails, mountains, coastline or in woodlands, is all part of the adventure! With the increasing urgency of the climate change and loss of biodiversity crises, everyone is much more aware of the actions needed to take care of the enivronmennts that give them so much enjoyment. 
The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is delighted to confirm that it has become a partner of Business for Nature, a global coalition bringing together forward-thinking companies and conservation organisations. Encouraging businesses to act now to reverse nature loss and advocate for greater policy ambition, the coalition is amplifying business voices calling for governments to adopt policies now to reverse nature loss this decade.
There is an increasing urgency and awareness of the double threat that our world currently faces: climate change and the loss of biodiversity. These two issues are intrinsically linked, and both are of enormous importance to wildlife, nature, people and the future of our planet and both require urgent action on a global scale. 
On World Earth Day 2020, in celebration of it's 50th year, and along with 20 other companies and organisations, EOCA is proud to have signed a joint business statement to stand with the 375,000 European citizens who have urged the European Commission – and governments across the EU – to maintain the EU’s Water Framework Directive in its current form.
SOCKS THAT MAKE A DIFFERENCE
EOCA Member Ternua has included in its spring-summer 2020 collection four T-shirts made with a mixture of 30% sea plastic and 70% plastic from recycled bottles. This is the result of the SEACYCLE project an initiative in which Ternua has collaborated with AZTI-Tecnalia, the Basque Government (IHOBE), EKO-REC and Seaqual to collect, with three fishing boats, plastic waste from the Basque coast and turn it into garments to enjoy in outdoor activities.
Values lead outdoor brand KEEN leap into spring with a renewed vigour and commitment to ‘taking action’, a longstanding philosophy that protecting the places we play, supporting communities in need and reducing impact through actions big and small can make a better world. 
EOCA is delighted to become an ally of the Natural Climate Solutions initiative, so joining forces with George Monbiot, Greta Thunberg, the Leonard Di Caprio Foundation and many others, to recognise, call for and enable the restoration of ecosystems to prevent climate breakdown. 
On 1 January 2016, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development officially came into force. In order to achieve these goals, it is our duty, as global citizens, to play our part and look after the world we live in.

On the 10th December 2018, EOCA was honoured to be invited to endorse and attend the launch of the Hague Principles, recognising the importance of human rights underpinned by humankind’s responsibility to nature and the earth.
EOCA is hugely grateful to Italian technical footwear, clothing and accessories brand La Sportiva who have once again decided to raise funds for conservation via EOCA through its Black Friday sales.

Following a public vote which reached millions, and a tense members’ vote, the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is thrilled to highlight the next 9 projects it will be funding.
Mountain trekking in Nepal is a high point (pun intended!) for outdoor enthusiasts. As one of the world's most species-rich countries, Nepal is known for its stunning scenery and dizzying array of wildlife. But some remote mountain areas have become degraded by hunting, illegal timber harvesting, poaching and wild harvesting of native plants. Local communities, mountain wildlife and ecotourists alike would benefit from reforesting these areas where "off-the-beaten-path" trekking opportunities abound. That is why The Mountain Institute (TMI) has joined forces with the European Outdoor Conservation Association's (EOCA) 2 Million Trees Project. In partnership with local communities, TMI will be planting 80,000 native and locally grown trees in Gorkha, Dhading and Sankhuwasabha districts.
