Funding for conservation projects across Europe has been given a hefty boost today by Original Buff.
Whilst still undergoing its annual voting process to decide which projects to support for 2011/12, the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is delighted to announce that Original Buff has chosen to fund three of their shortlisted projects in their entirety.
“This is a fantastic boost for EOCA,” said Holger Bismann, President of EOCA and Managing Director for Patagonia Europe. “Original Buff will increase our funding capabilities this year by a massive 30%, taking the funding EOCA is able to put into conservation for 2011 to almost €250,000! In conservation terms, this is an incredible achievement and we are very excited that one of our newest members has responded to our work in this way”.
Elisabet Torras, Marketing Director of Original Buff added, ”We have only just joined EOCA, but have been really impressed by the work that it does. We have committed to putting 1% of the proceeds from Merino Wool Buff® sales into something that would really make a difference to the environment around us. The hardest part of the whole process was choosing the projects we were going to support – there were so many really good ones!”
