After a break of over 2 years, EOCA is delighted to be able to be joining other exhibitors at OutDoor by ISPO this weekend. Back with its ever-popular fundraiser in room E128, the association is also keen to emphasise what has been achieved over the last 30 months, as well as reconnect with members and potential new members over the 3 days of the show. See the attached leaflet for details of the fundraiser!
With all activities needing to go online, and project progress being put on hold whilst the world dealt with the Coronavirus pandemic, EOCA’s members were steadfast in their support of the organisation, enabling over €1 million to be committed to 32 projects in 22 different countries around the world. Not content with that, member companies also helped raised money online to support EOCA and its projects, with over €153,000 being raised through gear sales, online events and even a garage sale!
With over 940 applications for funding over the 2 years, competition for funding was fierce, with the shortlisted projects that took part in the online votes attracting 180,000 votes from outdoor enthusiasts and those with a passion for conservation. Launching its new 2 year focus: Wild for Nature: EOCA’s Landscape Legacy Project in 2021, EOCA will ensure that all funded projects are addressing biodiversity loss and climate change in fragile landscapes around the world. Last year alone, EOCA funded projects working in and impacting over 472,000 hectares!
