The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is delighted to announce that top Austrian climber, Hansjörg Auer , has agreed to become the association’s third ambassador.
From pure alpine roots, having been brought up in the mountains, Hansjörg now concentrates on sport and alpine climbing, with a number of incredible free solo ascents. These include in 2007 ‘Il Pesce’ (Weg durch den Fisch) – an awe inspiring 37 pitch slab on the south face of the Marmolada in the Italian Dolomites, and the first free ascent of ‘Hallucinogen Wall in Black Canyon,Colorado in 2011.
Joint General Manager of EOCA Tanya Bascombe said, “We are thrilled to welcome Hansjörg to the team. He is a dedicated and inspiring athlete, full of enthusiasm for life , yet also passionate about the impact that we have on the environment around us. He will be a great asset to the association and we look forward to working with him very much”.
