Following a very busy Spring, the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) is gearing up for some exciting fundraising events and special association announcements at the OutDoor show in Friedrichshafen in July.
Top of the list is the annual Conservation Fundraiser, popular with visitors and exhibitors alike. This fundraiser is made possible by the generosity of EOCA members, who donate products to raise money for conservation projects for the following year. The fundraiser will run all day, every day of the show, finishing at 12 noon on the Sunday.
Needing reviving between meetings? The recently joined Scandinavian Outdoor Group had stepped up for conservation and will be offering drinks and snacks in Hall A5 at the Scandinavian bar. All items will cost just €1 and all money raised will be donated to EOCA.
The projects that are funded by EOCA each year are what it is all about – and the projects which have been selected for 2013 will be officially unveiled on Thursday morning at 11.30 in the East Entrance, opposite EOCA’s main stand.
Contributing to the EOG conference series, EOCA is running an open meeting in Room Rom on Friday morning from 08.45 – 09.30 entitled “Snow Leopards, Orangutans and Mountainbikers – Biodiversity and the Outdoor Industry – EOCA protecting wild spaces on your behalf” . Following a round up of all things EOCA led by Joint General Manager Catherine Savidge, there will be talks given by Jonny Hughes, IUCN Councillor, Director of Conservation for the Scottish Wildlife Trust and Scientific Advisor for EOCA, and Dr Susan Cheyne, Director of OuTrop, one of this year’s funded projects.
